About Lisa - A Sewing Life

Hi, I'm Lisa, the owner and creator of A Sewing Life. My sewing journey started many years ago at the age of 8 years old when I used to sew soft toys and clothes for them. As I went through the different stages in my life, I sewed my own clothes and then soft furnishings for my home. I come from a long line of sewers so I think it's in my blood. I find sewing incredibly relaxing and it's the one activity where I lose all sense of time. I find absolute joy in creating something out of a pile of fabric. I love fabric, colour, texture. 

I believe that every handmade project has a story behind it that makes it so unique and meaningful and there is no greater gift than giving someone something that you have made yourself with love. Sewing is good for the soul and helps promotes a wonderful sense of well being. Unlocking your creativity brings joy and calm to your world.

Sewing has remained a constant throughout my life. Sometimes I've sewn more, sometimes less....but I have always found my way back to it, one way or another. A Sewing Life is my opportunity to share my love of sewing with others and spend time creating sewing projects that will hopefully bring as much joy to other people as they have done for me. 

Having my daughter Grace on board, writing stories about the Theodore Bear and Friends characters that I have designed and created is wonderful :)
