About Lisa

Hi, I'm Lisa, the owner and creator of A Sewing Life. My sewing journey started many years ago at the age of 8 years old when I used to sew soft toys and clothes for them. As I went through the different stages in my life, I sewed my own clothes and then soft furnishings for my home.

I come from a long line of sewers so I think it's in my blood. I find sewing incredibly relaxing and it's the one activity where I lose all sense of time. I find absolute joy in creating something out of a pile of fabric. I love fabric, colour, texture and I love sewing.

Sewing has remained a constant throughout my life. Sometimes I've sewn more, sometimes less....but I have always found my way back to it, one way or another. A Sewing Life is my opportunity to share my love of sewing with others and spend time creating sewing projects that will hopefully bring as much joy to other people as they have done for me. 

I really enjoy having both of my daughters join in when they get the chance. Grace has written the stories for Theodore Bear and Friends characters and both girls get involved in the social media and are always happy to wear any clothes I make for them.
